Not uncommon, but does this mean the FT-1 from the NAIAS is real?

You read and lust or ponder.

I still think it's an ugly car with an ugly nose and a whole lotta ugly going on.

It is definitely subject to personal taste. But to get Toyota back to making bullet proof performance cars would be a plus.

It would be nice to have less beige cars from them again. Apologies, I'm just wearing my rose tinted sunglasses when thinking about Toyota sports cars.

I think it's the most attractive sports car to ever see the light in the past 10 years :)

So it's really up to personnal taste

I do like this a lot more than their FRS/BRZ/GT86 thing. If they got rid of that nose, it'd be great imo.

Understandable.

I would be astonished if they call it a Supra. Toyota has never killed a nameplate and resurrected it.

Have to wait and see. Supra does come with a great following.

So did the Celica and they didn't put that badge on the FRS, which it is much more similar to than the AE86. And let's not forget, the Supra used to be nothing more than a Celica with 2 extra cylinders. It really was Toyota's original sports coupe for the masses, whereas the AE86 was essentially just an econobox Corolla with a twin cam engine and LSD.

I'm getting away from the point. My point is Toyota has a ton of cars with very loyal followings. The Supra, Celica, MR2, AE86, JZX chassis, 2000GT, the list goes on. But Toyota has never, ever, brought back a dead badge. If this thing is going to be Toyota's halo car, it ought to harken back to an existing plate, but not be a full on copy (see GT86). Perhaps xxxxGT, with the number denoting engine displacement to harken back to the Godfather of Japanese sports cars, the 2000GT.

Good points. Will have to wait and see what the outcome is, I guess.

Yeah, I know. Really beige. But I am trying to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Nah I just feel like the face of the car is a stretched Toyota symbol. Not saying anything is wrong with that but just something I noticed when the car was revealed.

Still say Fuck Toyota if they are going to make the Supra some $100k super car. That does everybody dirty, unless you're in the market for a car at that price then carry on.
